Inspirational interview with Anastacia on BBC Radio 2's piano room - Annika Rutlin

Almost missed this superb broadcast (and you only have 4 more days to catch the replay)... having just released a brand new album Anastacia did a fantastic interview on BBC Radio 2's Piano Room.

What an amazing woman...A wonderful voice and such an inspiring character.

In 2002 I flew out to Barcelona to spend an unforgettable evening with Anastacia at her hotel, designing exclusive pieces for her and as gifts for her family. It was an absolute pleasure for me to work together with such a creative person and, although you may never see the commissions designed for her family, some of the pieces I crafted / made for Anastacia herself can be seen below.

(This included the) Silver and suede 'Freak of Nature' belt as worn in the One Day In Your Life video and at various other appearances.

Plus this silver 'Freak' necklace.

A pendant on a chunky belcher chain, worn regularly on her 2002 promo tour  and consistently in 2002 in interviews throughout the year such as this video where she talks about the 'Freak of Nature' album and her interview with Cat Deeley

I can honestly say that Anastacia genuinely is just as lovely as she comes across in the video fantastically kind, relatable and humble.

It was of course as a result of designing the large solid silver heart piece below, on long plated suede to enable it to be worn either as a necklace or a belt, that resulted in the creation of the Amitie Collection

Whilst the original piece measured over 15cm in size the more modestly sized pieces in this collection vary from 11mm for the studs to 27mm hearts on the larger piece

You may not be a famous artist like Anastacia, but I would love to create something just as special for you!

You can check out some examples of previous commissions HERE.

I love upcycling old jewellery for customers too - so how about repurposing any old unloved pieces into the jewellery of your dreams.

In the words of Earl Nightingale “Everything begins with an idea”. Why not let your ideas spark and we can create something wonderful together.
