Returns & Refunds Policy

At Annika Rutlin Jewellery, we want you to cherish your purchase. Our policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and fully compliant with UK Consumer Law.

1. Your Statutory Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the legal right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods.

  • Notification: You must notify us of your intent to return via email at info@annikarutlin.com within this 14-day period.

  • Return Window: Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to our studio.

  • Refunds: If you return your entire order within this period, we will refund the cost of the items plus the standard outbound delivery cost (e.g., £5.00). Note: We are not required to refund the extra cost of premium delivery options (e.g., Special Delivery/Next Day) above the standard rate.

2. Our 21-Day Policy

For full-priced items, we offer a return window of 21 days. If 21 days have gone by since your purchase (or delivery), unfortunately, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

3. Non-Returnable Items (Exemptions)

In accordance with UK law, the right to cancel does not apply to the following items. These items are non-returnable unless faulty:

  • Bespoke, Personalised & Engraved Items: Any piece that has been specially commissioned, customised, or engraved.

  • Rings (Made-to-Order): As our rings are individually made to your specific size requirements, they are classified as custom goods.

    • Sizing Error? If you have ordered the wrong size, we are generally able to resize the ring for an additional fee. Please contact us for a quote.

  • Earrings & Body Jewellery: For strict hygiene and safety reasons, these cannot be returned if the hygiene seal has been broken or if they have been worn.

4. Condition of Returns & Hygiene Tags

To be eligible for a refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

  • Packaging: It must be returned in the original packaging.

  • Security Tags: Some items are dispatched with a security tag. Returns will not be accepted if this tag has been removed or tampered with. Please ensure you are happy with the item before removing the tag.

5. Sale Items

  • Within 14 Days: You may return sale items for a full refund within the statutory 14-day cooling-off period, provided they are in original condition.

  • After 14 Days: Sale items returned after the statutory 14-day period are final sale and cannot be refunded or exchanged unless faulty.

6. Faulty Goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a right to reject goods that are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose, or not as described.

  • If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault, please contact info@annikarutlin.com immediately.

  • Within 30 Days: You are entitled to a full refund for faulty goods.

  • After 30 Days (up to 6 months): We have the right to repair or replace the item. If a repair or replacement is not possible, you may be entitled to a refund.

7. Gifts

  • Marked as Gift: If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return.

  • Not Marked as Gift: If the item wasn’t marked as a gift, the refund will be processed to the original purchaser (the gift giver).

8. Shipping Your Return

Costs & Liability:

  • Return Shipping: You are responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item (unless the item is faulty).

  • Tracking: If you are shipping an item over £80, you must use a trackable shipping service (e.g., Royal Mail Special Delivery) or purchase shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item and cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.

9. Refunds Process

Once your return is received and inspected:

  1. We will send you an email to notify you that we have received your item.

  2. We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund based on the condition of the goods.

  3. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original method of payment within 14 days.

Late or Missing Refunds: If you haven’t received a refund yet, please contact your bank or credit card company, as there is often a processing delay before funds appear. If the issue persists, contact us at info@annikarutlin.com.
